Dear ones,

We live in an unprecedented time in world history.  Despite the onslaught of secularism against Biblical Christianity in the name of science and “separation of Church and State”, God is not dead.  We are standing on the threshold of the greatest opportunity for evangelism and discipleship the Church has ever known.  Never before have we had such open doors, resources, and the necessity to proclaim the gospel of Christ and the Word of God. The hearts and souls of millions in our day and in future generations are at stake.

A wise man once said, “The evangelistic harvest is always urgent.  The destiny of men and of nations is always being decided.  Every generation is strategic.  We are not responsible for the past generation, and we cannot bear the full responsibility for the next one; but we do have our generation.  God will hold us responsible as to how well we fulfill our responsibilities to this age and take advantage of our opportunities.”

The health of any local church and subsequent impact upon the Body of Christ and the outside world directly corresponds to the health and vitality of its components, families.  The local church will experience its maximum impact when it deliberately equips families with the tools, wisdom, and vision necessary to evangelize and disciple the next generation in and through the home (Deuteronomy 6:5-9; Ephesians 6:4).

Any church that seeks to be effective in the 21st century postmodern culture that we live in should have a vision, goal, scope, and sequence in order to thoroughly ground God’s people in the Christian faith.  This primarily transpires through the weekly preaching and sound exegesis of the Word of God. Every believer in Christ should know what they believe, why they believe it, and how to defend the Christian faith within the context of a culture that is openly hostile to the truth of Biblical Christianity.

Every generation should embrace a forward-looking vision that seeks to intentionally transmit the truth unto the next so that they once again pass it on (Psalm 78:4-6; 145:4). Every believer in Christ should avail himself to the truth of the Scriptures and therefore be nourished by the grace of God, fully equipped for service, and armed to the hilt with an arsenal of truth.

Everyone who calls FCBC their church home should be ready, willing, and able to give an answer for the Christian faith and take the offensive in the battle of the ages declaring with the saints of old, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ” (Rom.1:16).  Let us be faithful in discharging our duty as ambassadors of the Risen Savior (II Cor.5:20).   May the Great I Am continue to be our strength as we press forward in preaching Christ in the power of Christ to present every man, woman, boy, and girl perfect in Christ Jesus.

We have been blessed to have the opportunity to be engaged in the ministry here at FCBC.  Serving alongside you and working together continues to be a rich blessing.  It is our prayer that the Lord Jesus Christ be glorified in and through our lives and the ministry of FCBC for generations to come and throughout eternity.  May the Lord show Himself mighty on our behalf as we live in total dependence upon Him and His Word.

Because Christ is Alive Forevermore,

Pastor Timothy R. Board, Sr.

“We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints; because of the hope which is laid up for in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel” (Colossians 1:3-5).

“Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 15:5,6).
